Megan Glotz Therapy
About Me
Hi, I am Megan Glotz and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in the state of California (122007) and Wisconsin (2153-124). Thank you for being here and taking this initial (and sometimes difficult) step toward change.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin and from a young age I knew I wanted to work in the mental health field. After majoring in Psychology at UW-Madison, I decided to take a break from the Wisconsin winters and moved to California to further my education at the University of Southern California. At USC, I obtained my Master's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My post-graduate experience includes working with couples, families, and teens at a small private practice in Manhattan Beach, providing support and trauma informed practices to women at a sexual assault and rape crisis center, and I spent 9 years working as a middle school counselor where I developed a deep understanding of adolescent development and challenges facing todays teens.
I truly believe that the greatest work in therapy happens when you and I have a good connection. My goal is to understand your past and the unique person that you are while simultaneously helping with your current and immediate struggles. I prioritize trust and care in our relationship so that I can truly understand who you are and what you need. Once the foundation of our relationship is established, my approach is often described as honest, direct, and authentic. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, uncover strengths that can support change, and develop practical strategies to help you move toward your goals.
Whether you are navigating relationship challenges, family conflict, life transitions, or personal struggles like anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem, I strive to provide a supportive, authentic, and nonjudgmental space where lasting growth can occur.
I look forward to hearing more about your needs and how I support you!

Megan Glotz Therapy is considered an "out of network" provider. PPO insurance plans that offer coverage for "out of network" services will help cover the cost of therapy. You will be able to access your ‘Superbill’ to submit to insurance through the online portal. Every insurance is different, so make sure you talk with your provider to understand how much they cover or reimburse.
My rates are $220 for individual therapy and $230 for couples or family sessions. I do offer sliding scale rates when appropriate and I never want the cost of therapy to deter you from starting. Please let me know if you would like to inquire about my sliding scale.

This really depends on your needs and circumstances. Some clients come in looking for solution-based therapy which can range from 4-12 sessions, and others come in seeking a long-term supportive relationship. Throughout therapy, I will check-in to see if we have met your goals and if you are happy with how often we are meeting. In general, I recommend beginning with weekly sessions for a month or two, to build momentum and then evaluating progress and adjusting as we go.

The virtual video counseling sessions are conducted through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant teletherapy app similar to FaceTime or Zoom. It is easily downloadable to your phone, tablet, or computer. I will provide you with a link to attend the sessions. It is really easy and I will be there to help with any technical problems!

The majority of my experience has been with teens, couples, and families. My passion and the majority of my post graduate training has been involving couples but I would say I work very well with teenagers due to my experience as a school counselor.
